Cynthia Hackler Flynn, Esq.
Ms. Flynn believes her attorneys and staff should come from a wide range of legal backgrounds and experience. She provides a workplace that is team-oriented and works together to bring the best results to her clients.
At Hackler Flynn & Associates, Cynthia Flynn examines each of her client’s objectives and determines how best to reach their goal. Ms. Flynn is dedicated to her clients and believes in being available and supporting them to meet their needs and build strong long term client relationships. It may seem old fashioned these days, but Ms. Flynn believes that clients should have their phone calls returned on the same day, whether it is from her, one of her team of attorneys or by the support staff. For Ms. Flynn, peace of mind in the legal field is a crucial intangible that Hackler Flynn & Associates provide their clients.
The City of Los Angeles awarded Ms. Flynn the contract for collecting judgements under a new nuisance abatement program aimed at reducing drug and gang crimes within the City. Ms. Flynn works closely with the office of the City Attorney to achieve these goals.
Cynthia Flynn has also recently taken the reins of the mentor/mentee program with the Orange County chapter of the National Association of Business Women (NAWBO-OC). She believes the program provides aspiring businesswomen with extensive and essential knowledge from their mentors, not just in business but in their personal lives as well. For some businesswomen, the NAWBO-OC mentor/mentee program is an invaluable tool for challenges faced by female business owners in male dominated industries.
Prior to starting her own practice, she worked for Wilson Harvey Browndorf and BP Law Group where she practiced commercial litigation and creditor’s rights law. Ms. Flynn graduated from University of California, Irvine, where she was a double major in Criminology, Law and Society and Psychology and Social Behavior. In 2010 she earned her Juris Doctorate Degree from Western State University, College of Law.
Before attending law school, Ms. Flynn worked in the legal profession for almost a decade. She has extensive experience on the defense side of litigation, as she worked for a construction defect firm where she assisted in handling hundreds of subcontractor cases. In addition, Ms. Flynn has worked in real estate and has held an agent’s license since 2007.
While in law school, Ms. Flynn was involved in several organizations including Legal Clinic, the Business Law Association and was President of the Federalist Society. She is active in Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) seminars and presentations and is a skilled interviewer and trained listener. Ms. Flynn is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Irvine Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
Ms. Flynn is also actively involved in community service and has raised thousands of dollars for Leukemia and Lymphoma by running the Long Beach Marathon. Ms. Flynn worked at the Orange County Courthouse to provide free procedural assistance to people who do not have attorneys and are representing themselves. Currently, she works with the Los Angeles Public Legal Counsel – providing legal aid to indigent members of the community.
Alexandra Buechner, Esq.
Alexandra Buechner, Esq. is a litigation attorney who has handled all types of unique and complex multiparty civil litigation cases in state and federal courts for over a decade. Ms. Buechner possesses significant experience in employment class action cases, complex railroad and public entity litigation, personal injury matters, multi-party construction defect litigation, as well as business, contract and real estate disputes. Her areas of practice include all aspects and phases of pre-litigation and litigation as well as appellate proceedings. Ms. Buechner is also experienced in various types of immigration proceedings. She has successfully obtained various non-immigrant and immigrant visas as well as labor certifications.
Ms. Buechner is a German native and attended the Free University of Berlin in Berlin, Germany, where she obtained her law degree. She earned her LL.M. In U.S. Legal Studies at Whittier Law School and is licensed to practice law in the states of California and New York. During law school, Ms. Buechner has worked at various law firms and courts in Germany. For over 9 years, Ms. Buechner has worked at the law firm of Krutcik & Georggin where she has handled hundreds of litigated matters. She has passionately and successfully handled a variety of cases from small civil disputes to large, multi-party complex class actions.
Michelle Jorden, Esq.
Ms. Jorden’s practice focuses on business law, with a secondary emphasis in public agency litigation and employment law. Ms. Jorden’s has previously represented public agencies in litigation, including general liability, personal injury defense, special education, employee discipline and termination, wage and hour issues, disability accommodation protocols, family and medical leave issues, investigations of harassment and other misconduct. Ms. Jorden litigates in both state and federal court, as well as in administrative law settings.
Prior to joining Hackler Flynn & Associates, Ms. Jorden was an Associate at Best Best & Krieger where she specialized in education law. She was also an associate at the boutique law firms of Currier & Hudson and Krutcik & Georggin, where she practiced public agency litigation and employment law.
Ms. Jorden graduated from University of California, San Diego in 2001 with a B.A. in Political Science and received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2005. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she interned in the White House in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Jorden is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Patricia Miller, Esq.
Patricia Miller, Esq., is a litigation attorney who has handled numerous types of litigation cases in both state and federal courts. Ms. Miller specializes in civil litigation in the areas of business, commercial, tort, breach of contract, personal injury, premises liability and real estate. She performs all aspects of case management, mediation and trial preparation.
Prior to joining Hackler Flynn & Associates, Ms. Miller was an associate attorney at Roquemore, Pringle & Moore, Inc. and the Law Offices of Harold Greenberg where she handled hundreds of litigation matters.
As a member of the California State Bar, Patricia Miller is also admitted to appear before the United States District Court, Central District of California and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1996, Ms. Miller graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Asian Pacific Studies, with honors that included the Jesuit Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Nu, and as a member of the Jesuit service organization, Ignatians. In 2000, she earned her Juris Doctorate Degree from Loyola Law School.
Angela Serranzana, Esq.
Angela Serranzana, Esq. has been representing clients in judicial and administrative proceedings in the areas of employment and labor law since 2005. She has broad experience working with unions, and individual employers and employees, and has appeared before the California Office of Administrative Hearings, the National Labor Relations Board, the California Labor Commissioner, as well as in proceedings at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal court, and in dispute resolution proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
Ms. Serranzana began her legal career in Washington, D.C., as an associate at Guerrieri, Clayman, Bartos, Parcelli & Roma, where she specialized in bankruptcy and labor law. She moved to Los Angeles in 2010, and, prior to joining Hackler Flynn & Associates, was an associate at Reich, Adell & Cvitan, where she specialized in labor & employment law, as well as education law.
Ms. Serranzana graduated from Northwestern University in 2002 with a B.A. in Political Science, and received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2005.
Ms. Serranzana is a member of the State Bar of California and a member of the Orange County Labor & Employment Relations Association.
Joo Hee Yang-Kershner, Esq.
Joo Hee Yang-Kershner is an accomplished attorney with over fifteen years of experience handling over 300 complex, civil cases in state and federal courts throughout California.
She has managed all aspects of litigation and appellate advocacy, including oral argument. Ms. Kershner’s practice has included construction defect, personal injury, employment class actions, and both the defense and prosecution of governmental tort actions.
Ms. Kershner graduated from Loyola Law School in 2000, in the top 20 percent of her class. One of the highlights of Ms. Kershner’s law school career was the semester she served as an extern for the Honorable Harry Pregerson of the Ninth Circuit, United States Court of Appeal.
Ms. Kershner is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California.
Andrea Patton, Esq.
For over 13 years Andrea Patton has specialized in the implementation of comprehensive estate plans including the planning and drafting of family trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advanced health care directives, marital property declarations, guardianship nominations, conservator nominations as well as funding of trusts. Throughout the entire process, Ms. Patton always work diligently and collaboratively with clients to ensure we craft a solution that meets their individual needs. Ms. Patton oftentimes work with our clients at their homes or other more convenient locations – so the process is as comfortable for our clients as possible.
Before Ms. Patton developed a specialty in estate planning she was interested in the subject long before law school. Ms. Patton graduated from UC Irvine in 1992 with a B.A. in English and went on to become a Paralegal in Estate Planning. Encouraged by the attorney she worked for at that time — she then attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and graduated in 1999.
Ms. Patton is licensed to practice in all California state and Federal Courts, and is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association. Ms. Patton is also active in her church and with her son’s school and boy scout troop. Family and relationships are very important to Ms. Patton. She truly enjoys helping people find the peace they desire in planning their family’s future. It is a joy for Ms. Patton to work with others to accomplish something as important as providing for their family and knowing that their wishes will be carried out even if they are not able to do so themselves.
